The most remarkable thing about the meeting in Sante Fe was the hot topic of side conversations. People would talk about how they were going to change the direction of their research to take advantage of the tremendous amount of money becoming available for research on HIV. That was then. Now we can see the results of over 30 years of research done for a financial goal. And of all the failures of predictions in scientific history, none come close to the failures of the ever changing theories associated with HIV.
